What makes you different from other photographers?
I prioritise connection. I like to tell the truest story possible. I love documenting what's there with gentle directions and prompts in a way that reflects genuine expressions and emotions. I find this so much more enjoyable for everyone rather than aiming for that "perfect image".
This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
Getting your photo taken can be intimidating, I know! Even though I do this for a living I always get the jitters when I step in front of the camera. It's normal!
They key is to ease into it. I approach photo sessions in a very relaxed manner that will hopefully put you at ease! For me it's all about just having fun and making some beautiful photos with you and the best photos are always when you are relaxed and enjoying yourself. Take the pressure off, let go and I'll guide you through it.
Do you photoshop images?
Sometimes I will remove some minor blemishes, cuts or scratches if they are distracting and not a permanent fixture. Imperfections are what make us unique though! So I keep things as real as possible. If there are any specific edits you want, there will be an extra fee which will depend on the complexity of the edit.
What should I wear?
Wear something that you feel comfortable in is number 1! And something that goes with your everyday style. When you look back at the photos you want to recognise yourself. If that means a flowing white dress then do that! Or, if you are more of a jeans and T-shirt kinda gal that works too. I personally like more natural and earthy colours but the main thing is picking a palette and working within those bounds for a cohesive look, particularly when it comes to families. Styling advice is included when you book a session so I'm always happy to have a chat to discuss this prior to shooting.
What happens if it rains or i get sick on the day?
Life (and weather) happens! If you have your heart set on an outdoor sessions and the weather is unworkable or you get sick, your deposit is able to be transferred over to a later date. There is also the option to switch to an in home session!
Do you have a set location?
I have a few favourite locations if you'd like some ideas! Otherwise I love to shoot in places that are meaningful to you!
Do you sell prints?
Yes! I highly recommend my print store but you are definitely not required to order through me. The prints are truly top quality though so I'd definitely encourage it.
Will you post my photos online?
Sharing my work is a big part of growing my small business but I always ask before sharing to social media.
